Costa Rica's Weekly Surf Report Volume 9, Issue 376 March 27th, 2007

Costa Rica's Weekly Surf Report
Volume 9, Issue 376
March 27th, 2007

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Surf is chest high with head high sets, no major swells for the week, just clean consistent surf. The next swell arrives from the SSW on Sunday morning. First a few overhead sets with the rising tide, then growing to 1-2 foot overhead by Monday. This swell will last for four to five days, so if you're planning a trip, next week is the week to do it.

Caribbean - Waves waist high are the calling card for the last week of March, as the NE swells come with less frequency. Same sized surf all week with a rare chest high set, until Sunday morning when head high sets arrive from the ENE. Will pick up next Monday to overhead, but won't last past Tuesday.

Low Tide - 1.97 feet at 3:55 p.m.

Full Moon - 4/2

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/25 or posted)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: This last bump in the swell left us with great surf as it dropped and cleaned up. We still have nice head high waves and the early morning sessions are firing. Saturday afternoon was mysto.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): As we go into the new high tide in the morning week, the swell looks fine and the morning wind should cooperate. The sand is getting a little funky but still excellent.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: There is good surf everywhere. The focus is just south of the main break in front of the hotel.

** From photographer John Lyman, Lyman Photos in Playa Negra -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - After a great couple weeks of waves, things have slowed down a bit. The last couple days have been waist to head high and great for the kids. Warm sunny skies are giving way to more and more clouds in the afternoons as the rainy season approaches. Look for an increase in surf for the next couple days from the SW with head high plus waves with it best on the incoming tide.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: See what the surf looked like today at Playa Negra. www.lymanphotos.sbpix.com

** From Devad at Devad Productions Photography in Playa Hermosa -

REPORT: CHEST TO HEAD--HIGH --PLUS AN OCCASIONAL FOOT OR TWO. DECENT FORM, A LITTLE FULL FROM THE TIDE, HOWEVER VERY FUN.

FORECAST: TUES-200, 4-5 FT, 12 SECONDS. SLOW RISE BECOMING BY NEXT MONDAY 210, 6-8 FT, 15 SECONDS. CONTACT DAVID MCNEILL FOR ANYTYPE OF REAL ESTATE QUESTION - US 321-251-4745 or in CR 506-374-8435
