NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Get the guns out! Not for this week, although starting Monday surf will be 1-2 foot overhead, with sets every 30 minutes. Tuesday the sets come in bigger at 2-4 foot overhead every 20 minutes, Wednesday is the same way. Thursday the swell drops a foot, and Friday it's down to a foot overhead. This is all from the SSW so it's 1-2 feet smaller if the beach doesn't face south. Saturday and Sunday have overhead surf and then Monday a whammy of a SSW arrives, pushing surf back up to 2-3 foot overhead with BIGGER sets for next Tuesday and Wednesday. Disfrutelo!

Caribbean - Surf is head high with a few overhead sets each hour. Will pick up to 2-4 foot overhead on Monday, with more consistency on Tuesday. Wednesday it starts to drop, but there still be a lot of 1-2 foot overhead waves to be caught. By Thursday though, the swell disappears leaving surf chest high with some head high sets. Friday and Saturday are a foot smaller.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/31 or posted)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Although we have a nice little swell running, the wind is switching early and blowing out the afternoon high tides. The wave saturated crowds from the beginning of the week are not showing up. The Florida surfers are saying it's just like home and having a great time.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Sloppy

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The main peak to the south of the hotel is the focus of this swell.

** From photographer John Lyman, Lyman Photos in Playa Negra -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The surf has been in the fun zone with shoulder to headhigh sets. The strong offshore wind has given way to no wind glassy mornings and onshore breezes in the afternoons.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Look for the waves to pick way up out of the SW with overhead surf this weekend and up to double overhead for the first part of the week. Sunny and warm mornings and cloudy afternoons as the rainy season is just around the corner.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: As the swell increases, Playa Negra will be the biggest and less crowded during this swell. Low tide runs through the mornings this week so bring your reef walkers.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: All new John Lyman Photos Playa Negra T-Shirts. Check them out at www.lymanphotos.sbpix.com

** From Erik at SurfingNosara.com in Playa Guiones -
Maybe one of the best days that I have seen at Guiones, and a top ten day overall today! Surf up to double overhead and grinding at low tide. Barrels and Broken Boards... Matt from Soul Arch shot real early today, and it got bigger throughout the morning. Wind switched at 10. It was somewhat funny today, as it didn't look real solid early and the lineup was crowded... then some sets started pushing in, and by 9 it was just the usuals out. Folks don't like good waves.

** From Chuck at Walking on Water Surf Shop in Jaco -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We got surf ยก Its not real big but its going to be fun for the ETERNAL CROWN contest put on by Christian Surfers out front today. Winds on it but not too hard for April so if we get blessed its going to be great fun ! Tuanis Chuck !

** From Marco at Hotel Resort Totem in Playa Cocles -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: 2 pies, sol

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): sol y poca olas

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: beach break
