- The recently opened highway to Caldera has created a direct access point from San Jose to Manuel Antonio. Additionally work on the highway from Quepos to Dominical is now complete. Total travel time to this area has been halved; Dominical is a pleasant three hour drive from the countries capital, San Jose.

- One mile north of Dominical on the road to Quepos there is a gas station. Additionally the national bank, Banco de Costa Rica has an office here as well as an ATM. There is also a Banco Nacional located in Uvita, about 10 kilometers from Dominical.
- Dominical has a pharmacy and a local EBAIS government clinic which offers free medical care. The majority of staff can speak English. The nearby towns of Coronado and Uvita also have medical clinics.
- Additionally, a brand new hospital has just opened 40 minutes south of Dominical. Hospital de Osa, Cortes is the newest hospital in Costa Rica and services the southern area. With a total of 23 departments, multi-lingual staff, 7 medical specialists, 10 GPs and 30 nurses this modern local hospital is well equipped to deal with emergencies and transportation is available via helicopter to a San Jose hospital if required. Facilities include a pediatrics wing, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology center.
