How to Pick a Costa Rica Realtor

Go with a Professional Who Has Many Years of Experience:

No doubt you’ve read the horror stories on the internet and even met a few people along the way that have had a bad experience in attempting to buy Costa Rica real estate. Let me tell you, there are no cutting corners when it comes to investing in property abroad. Always go with a qualified, realtor with a proven track record and plenty of recommendations to ensure you don’t quite literally get run around the houses.

I’ve lived and worked as a realtor in the South Pacific of Costa Rica for 13 years and during this time I too have heard a few property purchasing nightmares. I cannot emphasize enough that it’s important to be even more cautious when you are buying property abroad.

I’m not sure whether people get carried away with the paradise setting, but I always ask my clients to do their research about my qualifications and expertise so they can judge my achievements on their own merit. I’m quick to recognize that one of my most important assets is my willingness to respond to your questions and concerns about acquiring property in Costa Rica. I am committed to providing a top notch service and this is why I have established long lasting relationships with many of my clients.

I co-founded Dominical Realty and in 2001, the company obtained a Coldwell Banker independent franchise, and three years later partnered with another Coldwell Banker franchise in Costa Rica to become Vesta Group, the Master-Franchise-holder for the entire country. I work alongside Daveed Hollander and James Wieland and am proud to call them my friends as well as colleagues.

As a member of the Global Association of Realtors and the U.S.-based National Association of Realtors, the Vesta Group Master Franchise has already grown to ten (10) offices throughout the country, with several more currently in process. We could not have achieved this were it not for our commitment to delivering an unfaltering professional realtor service. We’ve build a strong network of professionals and offer our clients access to an exclusive portfolio of the best properties on the market.

As a farmer boy at heart I specialize in large farms and water fall properties and the South Pacific of Costa Rica is a fitting location for this type of real estate. Since the opening of the Caldera Highway I have seen a heightened interest in property investment in the South Pacific and I can only expect real estate values will rise once the international airport earmarked for Palmar Norte opens in 2013.

The great thing about the South Pacific is the sheer amount of unexplored territory, there are rivers and beaches and hundreds of undiscovered waterfalls. I’m very much a family man and am very fortunate to get the opportunity to spend a lot of quality time with my nearest and dearest. Living in the South Pacific has allowed me to develop a successful career as a realtor whilst being able to enjoy my paradise surroundings. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t count my blessings!
