Trip Advisor Ranks Manuel Antonio as Best Beach in Central America

Manuel Antonio Beach, Costa Rica has been recognized as the best beach in Central America – according to the Trip Advisor “Travelers Choice” awards.
Released on May 25th the results of the “Travelers Choice” awards are based on millions of genuine and unbiased traveler’s reviews. Taking into account that Trip Advisor attracts over 46 million unique visitors a month, it is clear that Manuel Antonio continues to reign supreme when it comes to the top beaches to visit in the world.
Manuel Antonio – Picture Perfect Beach Vacation Destination
Manuel Antonio Beach is positioned within the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Some of its key defining features are a white sandy shoreline, abundance of flora and fauna as well as a gentle tide – making it a perfect choice for a day of adventure with the family.
Next to Poas Volcano, Manuel Antonio is the most visited National Park in Costa Rica. Taking into account its small size great lengths have been taken to ensure sustainable tourism practices are implemented – with a limit of 600 visitors per day.
In the past two years this National Park has carried out a series of improvements to enhance visitor experience – including a suspended footpath, visitor’s center, disability access, new trails and a museum.
Manuel Antonio – Frequent Receiver of Awards
It should be noted that this is not the first time that this eco- tourism destination has been recognized for its beauty, along with a list of awards from Trip Advisor - Forbes.com places Manuel Antonio National Park as one of the best in the world.
Out of a total of 7000 national parks in the world, Manuel Antonio shares this prestigious accolade with Mount Fiji and the Serengeti National Park.  Jane Levere, contributor for Forbes.com, praised Manuel Antonio National Park, “Thanks to its dazzling variety of sights: tropical rainforest, beaches and rocky headlands. Wildlife - including sloths, iguanas and squirrel monkeys--is abundant in the rainforest. Sports enthusiasts can indulge in everything from snorkeling and sea kayaking to horseback riding.”
Unsurprisingly, the 2013 Trip Advisor Travelers Choice awards placed another 8 beaches from Costa Rica in the top ten best beaches of Central America – Playa Samara came in 2nd position. Other Costa Rican beaches were placed as follows: Playa Guiones in 4th, Playa Santa Teresa in 5th, Playa Avellanes in Tamarindo in 6th Conchal in 7th, Hermosa in 8th and Puerto Viejo in 8th.
